Reordering 2022/2023

We have appointed Splitlath Historic Conservation to carry out the SDU* funded building work at St Helen’s church and work commenced on Monday 10th October 2022.

Here’s some of the latest photos of the work going on inside St Helens…

The works aim to restore the church back to its intended layout, as well as including a new purpose built toilet extension and new single-level sandstone stone floor laid throughout.  A new ramp from the south porch will further improve accessibility and the kitchen servery facilities will be relocated to the space at the base of the tower.

These works represent the first significant interior changes since the nineteenth century Aston Webb refurbishment. It feels an incredible privilege for us to be contributing to the legacy of the oldest church in Worcester as we make the building fit for purpose as a church and a community space in the current day and for future generations.

Completion of the works is expected for Summer 2023, and will give us as an accessible, multifunctional and comfortable space in the very heart of the city centre.
